1st Day Off - Sunday 2/11

Finally, a day without any requirements! A day to relax.

I took an early morning walk to take pictures around the resort. The mosquitoes were bad in one area and I already had a lot of images, so returned to my room. It's a very hot, humid day with rain/thunderstorms coming in the afternoon. I have more days off ahead when I can finish taking pictures of the aspects I don't have yet - the lower pool and hot tubs, lagoon, temple, spa, gift shop, inside the restaurant, people, music room, gym.

Breakfast was wonderful as it usually is. Every other day supper is served at a local restaurant (alternating with supper served to us at the resort). I only went the first time, and didn't particularly enjoy the experience or the food, so haven't gone again. Twice I've treated myself to eating like a paying customer here at the resort (which I am when on my own like that). I'm considering skipping supper tonight because I'm still quite satisfied from breakfast. It isn't available until 6:30 for our group, so I have a while still to decide if and where I'll eat. I was planning on getting some food to keep in my room, but I've come to appreciate not having anything around to munch on and being more mindful about my meals. It's nice to not walk around feeling stuffed - ever. Food here is healthier and served in smaller portions.

I need to wash my dishes and do a bit of laundry. The big items - pants and shirts - I've turned in to be washed and dried for me, but smaller items I will do this afternoon.

I need to catch up on my class notes, plus I'm having fun posting some of the pictures that I've been collecting.

I was going to take a nap, but still there's too much to do before tomorrow morning starts another grueling week. When classes are in session, I have zero energy left at the end of the day and fall immediately to sleep when I get back to my room. So it's today or not until next Sunday.

I'm enjoying the thunder that comes and goes. The sound of rain is a nice addition to my quiet time in my own room in voice-silence.

Back to work.

  1. Your countenance appears to have a deeper and brighter sparkle that I have not seen since knowing you. There is a radiance that I have not seen before.
