"Always be on the lookout for the big idea that can change your life."
No talking in the wantilan (large, wall-less hall under multi-tiered roof, Balinese pavilion) in the morning when we arrive.

Di mana, mana

Dyad - lead the blind-folded person around for 20 minutes, then put their hands on things to explore. I fell in love with a huge tree that felt like a great protector.

Realized today how much Ellen/Esalen has been a part of my practice all these years. I feel affirmed.
How does massage start?
When does massage start? - when you first start thinking about it, way before they arrive.

Foot washing - I want to incorporate that into my longer massages
"The only way we learn is by moving slowly"
Trager - jostle, shake, rock, movement to relax muscles
then you can do deeper work
If you shake all 206 bones, all the tissue tets loose
Apply pressure to muscles while rocking
I want to consider putting clients' hands on their abdomen unless they are in my way
Move clients WAY more
Add compression of ribs and sternum while rocking
Rotating hands and legs toward midline feels safer to client
We don't "stretch" because it bounces back; we lengthen and add space
heads weigh 11 - 18 pounds, supported by 20 muscles
massages traded doing rocking, lengthening, movement

I am struck by your used of the word "dyad". You well know that words have different connotations. Janet Helms uses dyad in her research on interpersonal relationships with four connotations, two negatives and two positives. The negatives are persons with conflicting and/or regressive relationships. The postives are persons with parallel and/or progressive relationship. My experiences with you have been parallel and progressive. Reading your blog, you are having a parallel and progressive relationships different aspects of your experinces in Bali. I remind you of the Hero's Journey and the at-one-ment (atonement).
