Class Notes Day 4, Wed 2/7 - hip/joint mobilization and draping, starting flow
"Make your life as beautiful as the dreams that dance in your imagination."
May the masculine and feminine in me be united and connected to the source of the universe and move downward, into, and through me.
Ra Ma Da Sa Say Sae So Hung
Danced with our breathing, moving every joint
worked on the floor - joint mobilization of hips and torso stretch
Non-ordinary state of human consciousness
To put bolster under knees with client supine -
fold lower sheet over legs, cross their ankles, lift lower sheet to raise legs
slip bolster underneath
may sit on the side of the table and rest their ankles on my shoulder as I adjust
discussed hard, round, traditional bolsters vs. soft pillows
I want to consider using a pillow more often under legs -
maybe put a flat sheet over the fitted bottom sheet, see if it holds in place
if so, start placing the bolster/pillow this way
65% of mental activity comes through the visual field
covering the client's eyes helps quiet the mind
do NOT use when working on neck because it will slide off
I want to find some very light, small eye scarves
I need to slow down when prepping a client - it should be part of the flow
Greet the body/energy with simple, repetitive movements.
Start the flow movement at the very first moment
I wonder what coconut cream would be like to work with?
We did a flow trade
Then discussed proper draping of client when doing leg movement work
I've notice that everything starts and ends right on time. This is a big issue for me to figure out in my own practice.
There is very little structure or formality to class, but great respect is shown.
