Yellow is questions for class

Blue is what I want to add to my own office/work

Pink is what I need to do here/now

Songs:

Om Tara Tu Tare Ture Swa Ha
I prostate to the liberator, Mother of all the victorious ones

All I ask of you is forever to remember me as loving you
(song by Gary Norbet)

Danced

Feelings (emotions) vs Senses (5 senses plus 3 more - imagination, intuition, inspiration)
May become a language/interpreter issue

Dyads -
5 minutes each
What am I feeling? What am I aware from from my senses?

1. Who am I?
2. Who are you?
3. Who are we?
4. What are we doing?
5. Where do we go?
If breached or threatened, then we return to #1 and start over
I like that concept with regard to me and my clients

Boundaries -
Respect and communication
90% of communication is body language
10% is speech - and that requires courage when feeling threatened

Feedback
I would like vs.
You [attack words]

When giving feedback -
Is it kind?
Is it true?
Is it necessary?

Discussion of word "no"

Dyad:
Why are you taking this class
What difficulties might you face
How can you avoid/overcome them

Massages - 2 on 1
hands (and forearms, at least 5 minutes per hand/forearm)
feedback

Sitting with the wise elder, Ellen:

Esalen history
now "The Institute"
sincd 2017 it was closed more than open after several disasters
Big Sur became "an island"
landslide, fire, rain, landslide, arson, broken water pipes, covid
currently an atmospheric river hitting it
2017 EMBA - Esalen Massage and Bodywork Association
certification is from EMBA, not Esalen
This class would cost $40,000 each if taught at Esalen now
CAMTC is bullshit

CERTIFICATION -
certification forms we have to do are about our experience giving massage
30 forms must be submitted
each one NOT more than 4-5 paragraphs, about 1.5 pages max
basically SOAP notes with how I felt doing it
save all 30 as 1 PDF document, email to Rob
massage@esalen.org
Process:
1. Certify - $150 fee
2. upload profile
3. get certificate via email

look at LEEP massage program at Esalen

Massage - worked on feet
client supine
sit on corner of table, facing foot, your inside leg on the table
place client's ankle on your thigh and foot in your lap to work on

Move foot/leg by cupping inside hand under heel of foot, outside hand lifting leg
Palm to plantar surface, sole of foot on your forearm

Pay close attention to breath always

Pause - allow the receiver to integrate what has already been received

Timeliness of start/stop of class is exact - I need to work on that in my own office

I noticed that everyone is a healthy weight. No smokers.

Reviewed some anatomy terms
directional
movements

Fascia responds to emotions?!

Pain INSIDE a flexed joint = bone on bone!!! STOP!
Look at work by Paul Grilley - yoga - anatomy teacher
